Jonathan M. Gillett, MBA - Principal

Investment Training/Experience - Prior to founding Mission Capital in 2005, Jon was an investment analyst for Nashville-based hedge fund, Courage Capital Management, from October, 2001 through June, 2005.  Jon reported directly to and was trained by the Harvard MBA who founded the firm and grew it to over $1 Billion in assets under management.  At Courage, Jon had primary research responsibility for gross assets totaling $250 million, as of June, 2005, and generated the highest returns of any analyst at the fund during his tenure there.

Jon's career started in commercial real estate investment, which he was involved in from 1994 to 2000, as the Vice President of Houston-based Gillett Properties, Ltd.  The firm was primarily involved in the acquisition and redevelopment of Houston office properties, most of which were acquired under distressed market conditions from the Resolution Trust Company.  The initial set of properties were sold tax-free through a 1031 exchange in 1998, generating total returns in excess of 15X contributed capital.

Investment Education - Jon scored in the top 1% on the Graduate Management Admission Test and attended Vanderbilt's Owen Graduate School of Management under a full-tuition scholarship, earning an MBA in Finance in 1999.  He has a B.S. in Accounting from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

Personal - Jon grew up in Downey, California and moved to Tennessee with his wife, Jennifer, in 2001.  He is on the board of trustees of Williamson Christian College (www.williamsoncc.edu) and, with Jennifer, is a member of the St. Ignatius Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church in Franklin, TN.  Jon and Jennifer have 2 beautiful chilldren - a daughter and a son.


 

Jonathan H. McAdams, MBA, CFA - Principal

Investment Training/Experience - Jonathan was a Senior Analyst at Jetstream Capital Management from its inception in August 2003 through December 2007.  He was recruited and trained under the founder of the firm, who brought Jonathan to Tennessee after working for him at AIM Mutual Funds from 2001 to 2003.  During Jonathan's tenure as one of only two analysts at Jetstream, the fund grew from $7 million under management at inception to over $1 billion under management by the end of 2007 and generated average net returns in excess of 30% per year.

Prior to working at AIM, Jonathan was an analyst with the JPMorgan Chase Private Bank from 1996 to 1999.  He was charged with assisting client advisors with financial analyses, investment policies, and estate planning strategies for their high net worth clientele.  He won the Circle of Excellence Award in 1997 for his demonstrated quality of work.   From 1995 to 1996, Jonathan was a Financial Services Representative at JPMorgan Chase responsible for retail consumer lending and deposit accounts.  Prior to that from 1994 to 1995, Jonathan was a Financial Consultant with Merrill Lynch managing investment portfolios and developing financial planning strategies for retail clients.

Investment Education - Jonathan graduated with honors (Jones Scholar) from the Jones School of Management at Rice University in Houston Texas, earning an MBA in 2001.  While at the Jones School, Jonathan was CIO of the student-run M.A. Wright Investment Fund and was the recipient of the Houston Society of Financial Analysts Scholarship.  Jonathan earned his undergraduate degree in finance from Texas A&M University.

Jonathan earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2003.

Personal - Jonathan grew up in Houston, Texas and moved to Tennessee with his wife, Kerra, in 2003.  Their second set of twin boys were born in June 2008, and in 2010 Kerra gave birth to their first daughter.  Jonathan and Kerra are members of the People's Church (www.thepeopleschurch.org) in Franklin, TN, where he has acted as co-head of the Special Needs Ministry.


 

Mike Mullican - Principal

Experience – Mike's career has centered around financial management and business strategy roles, most recently serving as CFO & co-owner of two privately held companies in the marketing sector – Alcott Routon and Altair Data Resources. Earlier in his career, Mike served on the management team of Brentwood Academy as Director of Business and Finance for eight years and before that in the public accounting sector with regional firm Kraft CPA’s.  Mike's focus at Mission Capital is in business strategy and growth, along with building trusted relationships with clients. His vast business experience contributes to the value-add that Mission Capital offers to its clients.

Education - Mike graduated from Belmont University in Nashville Tennessee with a BBA in accounting, and a minor in music business.  Thereafter, Mike completed the necessary experience and exam requirements to attain his CPA designation.

Personal – Growing up in Franklin, Tennessee, Mike has been a life-long Franklin resident other than his college days and early marriage days residing in Nashville.  Mike and his wife Shelia are parents to three children - Kelsey, Jacob, and Joshua. Community service through leadership roles at church and non-profits has been an important aspect of expressing his faith and serving the community he loves.


 

Seth Davis – Principal

Experience – Prior to joining Mission Capital Management, Seth was founding Partner of XCD Performance Consulting; a professional services firm created to increase clients’ profitability by improving productivity and quality in their business operations.  Prior to founding XCD, Seth served as a senior consultant at Kurt Salmon Associates, the world’s premiere retail and consumer products consulting firm, guiding operations and strategy for several fortune 500 organizations.  Seth brings entrepreneurial savvy, operational excellence and business development energy to the Mission leadership team.

Education – Seth graduated from Texas A&M University with a BS in Industrial Engineering.

Personal – Seth and his wife Angela live in Franklin, TN where they recently had the addition of Pierce Alexander Davis to the family.  Seth enjoys an active lifestyle of sports and recreation, reading (non-fiction) and serves in various leadership roles in his community and church.
